MAKE UP YOUR MIND!
Makeup has no rules!

When I was younger, I always believed that only people who were insecure and hated the way they naturally looked wore makeup. I abstained from using any makeup (other than Lip Smacker lip balm, which I collected btw) until my senior year of high school. After high school, I *really* got into makeup and the whole "beauty vlogger" scene that existed on YouTube and Instagram, which totally opened my eyes to the power of makeup. Yes, people who hate the way they look wear makeup, but more people apply makeup simply because it's fun, creative, and can be powerful!

Makeup is just one of many ways to express one's self, and it truly allows people to "try-on" different versions of themselves. Another glorious aspect to makeup is that there are no rules (other than respecting a people's culture and avoiding the appropriation of customs that do not belong to us), and in the words of Patrick Starrr, "Makeup is a one size fits all!" Anyone can wear makeup.
Makeup defies the boundaries of race and gender. You can stick to the
impressive drugstore makeup aisles at Target or splurge on some
high-end cosmetics at your local Sephora. Makeup can be caked on,
applied naturally, and it can literally transform a face into a fabulous
work of art. The possibilities of makeup are endless, and I have grown
from my "natural is better" mentality to the makeup enthusiast I am
today.
Have fun. Be creative. Wear makeup if you want or don't wear it, refrain
from judgment, and let’s empower one another. Spread that positivity.
I say, "Let them be caked!"
