The brand was founded by Audrey Gruss, a philanthropist and entrepreneur. Her mother, Hope, had struggled with mental illness and battled clinical depression for decades. In April of 2006, Gruss founded the Hope For Depression Research Foundation (HDRF) in honor of her mother who passed during the winter of 2005. To fund and accelerate research, Gruss created Hope Fragrances. Wanting others to feel uplifted with fresh, rejuvenating scents, she created products derived from floral essences, such as gardenia and jasmine. Her line contains body creams, candles, and perfumes. Aside from these sweet assortments that can turn your day around, 100% of the proceeds go to fund research for depression.

Simon Constantine is the head buyer and perfumer for LUSH cosmetics. Constantine travels all over the world in search of sustainably sourced fragrances and essential oils; he hand picks the very best to go into LUSH’s bath bombs, creams, scrubs, and soaps. As one of LUSH’s main buyers, Simon Constantine has done his best to instill an innovative spirit into the way oils and fragrances are sourced. Because he promotes innovation, he came up with the following ideas: the “new cold pressed soap range” and utilizing rosewood (which is a more sustainable ingredient for cosmetics).
